LAWN TENNIS
NEW SOUTH WALES V. NEW ZEALAND. The ladies’ inter-State match, New South Wales v. New Zealand, which is creating the greatest interest in tennis circles, will bo played on the Tliorndon courts, Halswell Street, on Friday and Saturday next. Adnission to tlie grounds has been fixed at 2s. 6d. each day, while boys and girls will be admitted for Is. each day. lliis should enable everyone to have a chance of seeing what is expected to be the most brilliant ladies’ tennis ever seen in the Dominion. The New South Wales ladies are training assiduously for the match on tho Lower Hutt courts, and arc showing fine form. The New Zealand team, with Mr. R. N. K. Swanston as honorary coach, are training on a private court in the city. The members of both teams are fast getting into their very best form, and it is anticipated that the standard of play which will prevail on the Thorndon courts on Friday and Saturday next will be a good deal higher than that which was shown at the New Zealand championships at Hastings.
