VISIT OF AUSTRALIAN TEAM SUGGESTED ITINERARY The council of the New Zealand Football Association met last n)ght at the Y.M.C.A., Mr. C. E. Fordham presiding. Also present were Messrs. H. J. Buck, W. J. Bj-yco, F. Campbell, H. J. Graves, R. Y. Walla, A. Menzie, J. Ollier and B. L; Salmon. It was decided, on the suggestion of Messrs. Salmon and Fordham, that the following sub-committees be appointed in connection with the visit of the Australian team: —Itinerary. —Messrs. C. F. Fordham. F Campbell, and B. L. Salmon. Advertising. —Messrs. F. Campbell, W: G. Bryce, and A. Menzie. Emergency.—Messrs. C. E. Fordham, J. M. Ollier,, H, G. Mayor, H. J. Buck, and B. L. Salmon. Finance. —Messrs. C. E. Fordham, A. Menzies, R. Y. Walls, H. J. Buck, and H. J. Graves. Proposed Itinerary. The itinerary as drawn by Messrs. Thos. Cook and Son, was referred to the itinerary sub-committee for consideration and further report. It was as under: — 1 May 22. —Arrive at Auckland. May 24. —Play Auckland. May 27. —Play at Wellington. May 31.—Play at Nelson. Juno 3. —Play at Christchurch. June 7.—Play at Greymouth. June 10.—Play at Dunedin. June 17.—First test match at Dunedin. June 24. —Second test match, at Auckland. June 28. —Play at New Plymouth. July 1. —Play at Wanganui. July s.—Third test, at Wellington. July 13. —Leave for Australia. The itinerary committee suggested that as the Westland Association was prepared to guarantee the required amount for a match against the Australians, it should like to place .the Southland. Association "on the itinerary. , The committee also recommended that the New Zealand Racing Calendar be consulted to see that there was no clashing of fixtures with race meetings. A further recommendation was that, if necessary, the Australian team, should not remain in Auckland after the last match, but if the steamer arrangements were noi suitable, the team should come to Wellington and depart from there. The report was adopted, with the recommondatioji that a match should bo played in Southland and' that, if necessary, the Kaitangata match be dropped to allow of this. It was decided that arrangements for transport be placed in the hands of Thos. Cook and Son. The New Plymouth Football Association forwarded drafts for £75, being the amount of guarantee for the Australian visit. Matters of Finance. The secretary of the Australian team wrote acceptng the New Zealand itinerary, but asking that the matter of Queensland players’ expenses to New South Wales, and the matter of the profit being allocated to the Association, be reconsidered by the New Zealand Council. A suggestion was made that the Queensland expenses should be the first charge against the gross profits, and that 25 per cent, of tho remainder be contributed towards the allowances given to players. Mr. F. Campbell moved that £5O bo granted to the Australian Association to defray the expense of assembling the Queensland members, with the proviso that a similar grant be made by the Australian Association next year, when the New Zealand team plays in Australia. Members of the council were of the opinion that the council had not the power to make this grant, as the guarantors had to, be considered iu the matter. In consequence, Mr. Campbell withdrew his motion. • Mr. Buck proposed that the Australian Association be informed that its proposals could not be agreed to, and that the original financial arrangements should be . adhered to. —The motion was carried. General Business. A protest was received from the Canterbury Football . Association regarding Press Association reports from England of senior soccer matches. The Canterbury Association alleged that rugby matches were reported in full, while soccer was given the “cold shoulder.”—No action was taken, tho secretary stating that reports of soccer matches were now being sent out. The Otago Football Association Schools Committe wrote asking if It would bo possible to obtain a trophy for competition among the primary schools of'the Dominion. Representative matches had beon played between Otago, Canterbury, and Wellington, but Otago, which had an unbeaten record, had nothing to show for its efforts. —The letter was referred to the Otago Football Association for consideration.
