FLIGHT ROUND AUSTRALIA
PARER MAKES ANOTHER START. (Rec. October 7, 9.30 p.m.) Melbourne, Octolier 7. Lieutenant Parer has recomn.enced his flight; around Australia.—Press Assn. [Lieutenant Parer, accompanied by Mark Parer and Anthony Kaye, left Melbourne on August 3, in a biting wind, with hail and rain, but after travelling forty miles his engines developed trouble. He landed safely, end sent his companions away to obtain wood for overhauling purposes. While away Parer started to overhaul the machine, but ihe strong wind overbalanced him, and his legs and feet were caught in the revolving propeller. A big toe was broken and both feet badly bruised. He was suffering severely from exposure when his companions returned, and was removed to hospital. The flight was resumed on September 19, but was interrupted again on the way to Adelaide, owing to engineknocking.]
