EXCITING CHASE
TWO BUKGLARS DISTURBED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, October 7. An exciting chase occurred last night, when two burglars were disturbed in the attempt to rifle a safe in the premises of Johnson and Smith, motor body builders. The burglars were operating on the safe, not being aware that Mr. Smith was working on hie books in the next room. Smith heard a noise, and investigated, but the burglars made a rapid escape through the rear of the factory and over the fence. The police were quickly on the scene, and made a search, which was resultless The safe wqs closed, hut not locked, and the burglars were disturbed Wore they had completed their overhaul of the contents.
