A newcomer on the Wanganui tracks is the big chestnut gelding Hindi, a fullbrother to the New Zealand Cup winner, Indigo. Hindi is now owned by Mr. JMarshall, who will prepare him for racing. The Wanganui horseman, E. Copestake, is still carrying his arm in a sling as the result of his fall off Marconi at Avondale. He hopes to bo well enough to ride at the Waverley meeting this month,, and he will then go on to Ellerslie for the November meeting. Tho three-year-old Lord Martian, who raced unsuccessfully in Sydney, died at' Trantham on Thursday after undergoing An operation. Lord Martian was owned by Mr. A. J. Toxward, of Akitio. Tho Blenheim-ow,ncd Maritsa (Martian —Snowlike), whom it is thought will be able to get a 1-1.1 certificate in. Sydney, ■was shipped by the Manuka this week.
