COLLISION IN OTAGO HARBOUR

STEAAIER STRIKES BARQUE. Bv Telegraph. —Press Association. Dunedin, July 7. A collision happened in Otago harbour at* 6 o’clock this evening, between the coastal steamer Calm (owned by the Canterbury Steam 'Shipping Co.) and the barque Rothesay Bay, 762 tons (owned by the Australian Ship Activ, Ltd.). Iho Calm was proceeding from Dunedin to Bluff, and struck the Rothesay Bay while she was at anchor opposite Carey s Bar. The barque’s bowsprit was carried awav. and the Calm has a largo holo in her bow near the water-line. It is understood that the barque, which has a cargo of hardwood from Hobart, will come up to tho Dunedin wharf to discharge to-morrow morning, and tho Calm will berth at Port Chalmers. Ihe barque was formerly known as the Activ.
