The Alliance Aeroplane Company is suing the Union Insurances Cuni}mnv*of Can*oh for -SSOOO for the loss of ' Captain Douglas's machine on November 13, 1919. The accident occurred a few minutes before the expiration of the poliey. The defence contends Hint (he policy covered only the trial flights in England, not the flight to Australia.—Ans.-N.Ji. Cable-A*sn. [The Alliance aeroplano, in which Captain Douglas and Lieutenant Ross were to fly to Australia, crashed at Stirbiton (on the Thames), and both aviators were killed. Shortly after the aeroplane started the engino suddenly stopped, and the machine nose-dived into an orchard, struck a tree, ami ovor-turned. Three explosions followed, and a fire started, and when a rescue party arrived on the scene they found both men dead.]
