In sentencing a joung man in the Supreme Court yesterday for indccent nssault on a little girl,_ His Honour tlvo Chief Justice said sp far as sexual cases were, concernhe had read what had been Faid by Mr. Justice Stringer iiv Auckland. Continuing, llis Honour said that in his twenty years' cxporicnce on the Bench he had never ordered a man to he (logged, but if sexual crimes were going to increase and the lives of litlla children rendered unsafe in. the country owing to their liability to attack by scoundrels then lie would be obliged to verv seriously consider having to order that the utmost rigour of the law should be applied to offenders. ■ His Honour added thnt in sexual rases-ho had noted that Wellington jurors had always dona their duty when the evidence was placed clearly before tlieni.
