PRIZE LIST. At the Boys' Institute annual concert and distribution of prizes, Air. G. A. Troup, the president, touched upon.the serious epidemic wjiich had interfered so much with the work of the institute, that it had to bo .closed down, and it was impossible to hold the indoor games championships nor ,yet the swimming contests, which will, now take place -when the schools reopen. Air. 'Troup spoko in very Reeling .terms of the death ot' one of the boys, Walter Harris, on Monday last. He also told the boys the duty they owed to their parents, and exhorted them to do all they'possibly could to assist their mothers.. He was very pleased with the enthusiasm the boys had shown in the general activities of the institution. The following contributed musical iflid other items:—.Miss G."Bassctt, Air. H. l'hipps Af, Dalglcish, N. Al'Quistan, and J. Banks. A gramophone lately presented to tho institute by Jl.r Bridson, , played spine popular records, which had been presented to the boys by the' local music shops. ' .' lAlrs. 'league, Fred. Tyson, R. Simmonds, C Rogers. W, Robinson, F. Grci. W. Nicholas, F. Nelson, P. Dixon, A. Clnrke, J. Banks, T. Allan, B. Allan, H. Allan. Prize for speech-making-: Peter Wilson. Captain J. Banks's team won the competitions. The team comprised It. Clark arid N. Teague. Captain 11. .Hobson's team won tho attendance teams' prize. The team was: G. Home, W. Grei, C Rogers. L. Thomson, Ar. Gamble, W. Robinson, N. AFQuistan, R. Turner. A. Sigglekow, H. Crow, AY. Nicholas, F. Hyder, G. Alis.tin, J. Austin. Athletic Championship.—Senior: J. Tyson and Frank Tyson (pcpiol), 2. General D. Chandler. ■Alasfer L. Fenby, on behalf of the boys, presented a silver vise to Air. D. Smith, l''e late gymnastic instructor, as a mark of members' appreciation of his kindness towards them during the time he was in charge of Ihe gymnastic work of the institution.' Air. Smith, in reply, slated that ho had enjoved the work very 'much, and was exceedingly «orry when military duties caused him to resign.
