MURITAI TENNIS CLUB
The annual meeting of tho Muritni Tennis Club was held at Jluritai on Friday last, a fair number of members being present. Mr. H. W. Shortt presided. The balance-sheet as submitted was adopted, and threo new members were elected. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:— Patron, the Hon. T. M. Wilford (reelected); president, Mr. 11. W. Shortt; vice-presidents, Messrs. Avery (re-elected). W. Blackey, Leslie (re-elected), Levi, and Walker (re-elected); committee, Messrs. G Blackey and Hull-Brown, Misses D. Leslie, F. Eayward, and vial; hon. treasurer, Mr. C. A. Willis; hon. secretary, Mr. W. T. Harbison; hon. auditor, Mr. T. W. F. Marsden. It was decided that the' official opening for tho season should take place on November 9. In view of the increasing membership of tho club it wns decided that the use of tho courts bo restricted to members only. The chairman, in a short address, referred to tho great loss the club had sustained in' the death of Sergeant li.
