DRAILWAYMEN'S WAGES
INCREASES DEMANDED. By Telccraph-Press Association. Auokland, October 21. The Auckland branch of tho Engineers, Firemen, and Cleaners' Association passed a strongly-worded motion demandin°- increased wages and improved conditions, and' failing a favourable reply, urging the Executive Council to lake drastic steps in the direction of concerted action throughout the Dominion. Greyniouth, October 21. At a meeting of the Groymouth Locomotivo Association, held on Saturday, the following motion was carried unanimously: "That the Executive be urged to use every means in its power to obtain long-delayed justice and adequateenumeration for night-work and a rata of wo e in keeping with the nnportaic of tho work performed, and to impress U e Gov rmnent with the insincerity and consistency of approving increases to organisations that adopt..extreme methods while penalising societies that upho d constitutional methods and endeavour to secure their just rights.
