ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS
At the Art Gallery last evening a largo and appreciative audience gathered to hear Mr. Charles Wilson discourse on "Art in the Home." The address, which was bright and breezy, was listened to with, the greatest interest. The exhibition, which closes to-night at 9.30 o'clock, has run a very successful course during the past two weeks, and marks a record in sales and increased membership. This evening at 8.15 o'clock Mr. J. Ellis will deliver a short address on "Sculpture and its Eolation to Architecture," and the drawing of the public art itnion %yili take place at 9 p.m. The admission charge of one shilling to-day will include a ticket in the art union. Mrs. M. B. 11. Tribe's portrait oF the late Sir Joshua Williams, now on view in the Art-Gallery, has. been purchased by members of the Bench and Bar in Wellington. Subject to the consent of the authorities, the portrait will bo hung in the Supreme Court witiT those of Sir James Prondergast, Mr. Justice Chapman, and Mr. Justice Richmond.
