The Nowcaslle miners celebrated the supposed peace by taking Monday off. At Goulburn the sewerage employees and many other workers made holiday, and some business places were closed. At Bathurst joy bells were rung, and crowds paraded the streets till midnight. Newspapers offices were everywhere delugod with inquiries, and crowds awaited the posting up of news. —Press Assn.
