The recent large increase of 'new members .to the Academy . has "brought the sum for distribution in the members'' art union up to £142, which, with the foregoing sales from the walla makes a total 'of-£334 Os. 6d., which establishes a record first-day sales. Tho members' art union was drawn on Saturday evening in the presence of a large number of visitors and members, and-resulted in tho prizes being distributed as follow:—, Ist (£3O), Mias O. L. Richardson; 2nd (£2O), Mr. P. E. Nelson; 3rd (£ls), Mr. Ernest W. Hunt; 4th (£10), Mr. A. P. Roberts; sth (£8), Sir Walter Buchanan, Kt. M.L.0.; 6th (£7), Mr. J. Webster; 7th (£7), Mr. Donald. M'Donald; Bth (£6), Mr. W. H. Tripe; 9th (£6). Mr. W. J. Blundell; 10th (£5), Mr. Lindo Levien; 11th (£5), Mr. D. J Eiddiford; 12th (£4), Mr. Harold Beauchamp; 13th (£4), Mr. W. h. The exhibition will be open to-day from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Tickets in the public art union are now 6n sale at the Art Gallery. Those joining the Academy as subscribing members receive ten Ib. tickets.
