MANUFACTURERS' AGENTS
1 : A Now Zealand Association of British Manufacturers' Agonts was_ formed at a conference held in Wellington yesterday. Associations of this kind had already been formed at tho four centres, and tho object of the conferonoo was to plaoo the organisation en a Dominion basis. Tho delegates present were Messrs. James Macintosh and 0. E. Eiohardson (Wellington), H. Issaacs (Dunedin), H. J. Simmoiide (Auckland), and F. R. Sims (Christclmrcli). Mr. Macintosh was chairman. After a general discussion tho conference decided that the four associations should affiliate. A draft constitution and rules were adopted, subject to the approval of the brandies. Several matters of interest to the association wore considered. It was decided that representations should be made to the British Trade Commissioner and to British manufacturers regarding tho use of the word "Australasia" in agency agreements intended to cover nil tho Commonwealth of Australia.
