Tho French between Onrcy and the Marne havo advanced about two miles, while the British, after a slight pause, have resumed their operations on the Vrigny front, and captured ground of considerable importance. The comments on the situation are full of confidence and hopo. General Smuts speaks of the "final turning of the tide." The "Daily Mail's" correspondent. at Bfcrne says that military opinion in Germany talks of a reversion to defensive trench warfare on a considerablo scale, with underground positions and communications. Tho advance in Albania, it is officially stated, has boen completely successful during the past two months. Not the least important of the dispatches to-day is tho Admiralty's statement of tho shipping losses, tho steady and substantial drop in which affords conclusive evidenco of tho failuro of the U-boat campaign.
