A MARVELLOUS ESCAPE
Captain Montague W. Prowso, of the small American oil-carrying steamship Atlantic Sun, which was owned by (he Sun Oil Company, and was sunk'by a submarine recently, escaped through'tho hole tho torpedo made in the sido of his ship. f Hot steam, after the torpedo tore open tho engine-room of the Atlantic Sun, blinded Captain TYowse, and ho fell down a hole blown through the deck. Catching hold of a. twisted 'plate he pulled himself out through the hole against the inrushini; wntor and swam away from the ship before she went down. Ho was picked up by , a boat that hod been launched.
