' The Camp Commandant at Trentham acknowledges tfith thanks receipt of the following gifts, which have been distributed iu the camp hospitals:—From the Salvation Army, Wellington—Cake, fruit, and sweets, etc. I'rom the Women's Patriotic Committee, New Plymouth—Floor rubbers, old blankets anil quills, etp.; home-mado foffee, preserved ginger, biscuits, etc. A Norwegian scientific committee, which has been at work on the subject for some time past, claims to liavo established the possibility of making margarine from cod HvePoil, herring oil, apd other fish oils identical in evory way, including - taste) with that, at present manufactured from vegetable oils. As tho manufacture of margarine of this new source will require 110 change of, machinery in tho existing margarine factories, the new process will shortly bo put into practical operation. Conjurer: "Now, to help me with this next trick, I want tho services of a boy —just any boy in the audience—yes, you will do, my little man; come along. Now, you've never seen ine before, have you ?"
