THE WEATHER
FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT I P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for .hiuh and squally south and south-east winds, and cold, changeable conditions,, with scattered showers, hut heavy showers arc still llkoly along the East Coast betwen Kaikonra and East Cane. Barometer rise, especially in tho North. Owing to telegraphic interruptions no weather reports have heen received from places southwards of Hokitika and Kaikonra. Elsewhere high southerly winds have ruled, and except in tho West Coast districts cold, squally and showery weather has been experienced. Atmospherio pressuro has increased considerably iu tho far south, but has remained relatively low in the northernmost districts to-daj, B. V. PEMBERTON.
