THOS. MOORE ANNIVERSARY
The competitions in connection with the anniversary of Thomas Moore, the great lyric poet of Ireland, will lake place at the Concert Chamber of tho Town Hall to-da.v, commencing at 11 a.m. The eight sections to he decided, for which nc-largo number of onirics havo been received, are as follow:—(1) Chorus, open to choirs of pupils from Catholic primary schools. The Begg challenge shield is held by the winning choir of this competition. (2) Chorus, onen to all primary schools, whether public or private. The Bristol. Piano Co.'s challenge shield is held l\v 'he winning'choir of this section. (31 Soprano solo, boys. M) Soprano solo, girls. (5) .Alto polos, boys, (fi) Alto solos, girls. (7) Elocution,. boys for Knmmeri'ille challenge cup). (8) Elocution, girls. The three first choirs and two fir«t solm'sls of each section will nnnear at (he concert at the lar"" Town JTall on Monday owning. when flic final decision of the adjudicator Ol'v. F. .T.
