.MEETING OF 'JHE COUNCIL
The Miramar Borough Council met on Thursday evening. There were present tho Mayor (Mr. F. Townsend), Councillors AY. 1:1. Green, M. Tracey, S. H. Underwood, H. Iv. KoburtsiuuVj and t. A. Chapman. The question oi' delegates to a meeting to be held with a view to terming a league to push the Muugahao hydro-electric scheme wiyh discussed. Tho Mayor'and Councillor Underwood were appointed the delegates. The Mii'umar and Seatoun Football Club asked to be allowed to use Seatoun Park. The Mayor said 1 hut the sports boiiies had to bo catered for, and Councillor Tracey expressed the opinion that tho council had not done enough to luster outdoor recreation in the past. The football club's request was granted. Jlecentlv, the council resolved to ask the city "tramway authorities for a return as to inspections made on the borough lines. A reply was sent which the council decided to regard as "not an answer to the question." The council decided to press for Hie return it seeks. \lr. S. J. f-'tiMiess asked permission lo make a certain sewer extension. It- was decided to inform him I hat lie could go on with tho proposal if he paid half the cost and to advise him to endeavour to get other property-owners concerned to pnv their respective share? to him. The Miromar Municipal Electors' and Beautifying Association asked for the use of the Town Hall on June 24. The request was acceded to. A report was received sta ting'that the proposed extension tif the fire station iu I'ark Boad would co-t .t'UO 9s, -The work is not to be undertaken.
