At the annual meeting of the South Island Dairy Association of New Zealand in Cliristcburcli the chairman (Mr. i. »• Foster) made reference to the death of Mr. John Harnett, one of the oldest directors of the association, who had died during September of last year. Mr. Barnett had gained the respect of evirvouc who had made his acquaintance. Ho had been untiring in his work on, behalf of the association and tho dairying industry in general. His ripe judgment and long experience in the gutter business had been of the greatest assistance in deliberations of the executive. • Ha was a mail of whom the country of his adoption might well bo proud.
