TRIBUTE TO THE SCHOOL COMMITTEES' ASSOCIATION.
A tribute to the work of tho Wellington School Committees'/ Association appears in the annual report of the lerrace School Committee, to be presented at the election meeting tins evening:"The Wellington School Committees Association, consisting of 'two delegates from each, school committee lias (.slates the report) done a lot of. useful work during tho past year in endeavouring to further all questions relative to the administration and maintenance of the national system of education and should be supported by every school committee in the district, as it can voice the opinions of tho,whole of the schools under the board. 'The chief subjects discussed by this association during the year have been:— School Books and Requisites—lt is ij'oiridfcred that a substantial saving could be effected in the matter of stationery and articles, such as, paper and ink, if purchased in bulk. The cleansing of public schools: As a. result of this association's endeavours a suin of I'6(I00 was voted last session' to assist school committees in this matter. Other mat'ter,=! that the association has noted for futuro discussion are:— Beautifying of school grounds; overcrowding'in schools; scale of capitation allowance to school committee; appointment of teachers; nominations for Education- Board election.
