Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report:—At Palmerston North on Thursday, we held onr annual owe fair, when between COM and 9000 were yarded. A large proportion of the entry was comprised of low-conditioned and aged ewcß, which were not in demand, and made relatively low prices. Any Rood eweß sold well. At Fcildingon Friday, a heavy yarding came forward, the. bulk of the entry being ouittcd at very satisfactory prices. Fair lamhs, 14s. Jlesrs. Abraham and Williams. Ltd., report:—At the Palmernton North sheep fair on February 28 we had a good cntrv of 6hccp, of mostly medium ouality. submitted a. lair rarding of both sheep and cattle to a fair attendance of buyers. I'ho sale had a draggine tendency, probly' owing to tho lack of quality. Messrs. Dalgeiy and Company. Limited, report:—Wo held our usual stock sales at Wanganui and Wavcrlcv on Fehruary 27 and March t respectively. At Wanganui we nuhmittrd a very big yarding of eheep to a good attendance of buyers. Competition was fairly brisk, and with the exception of a few pens tho whole of the yarding changed hands. Prices for breeding ewes, with the exception of special P'ncs. showed a slight drop on late s/tlcs. Two-tooth -Esthers wero keenly competed for. and sold in vendors' favour. Ti/imbs were also in good demand, and allowed a. slight rise on late Talcs. Wo quote:— 2-tooth cweß, 305.: 4-toot.h cwcb, .'/is. to 535. 6d.; 4 and 5-year ewes, 225. A'l Waverley we had a small yarding o( sheop, which met with a. very good reception. All classes of sheep sold well, and in most cases showed, a. slight, advance on late rates.
