SOUTHERLY WEATHER
Yesterday's weather was fine, with a gusty northerly to dry up tho sodden enrth. Present, indications are for strong southerly winds, and a rising barometer everywhere. Cool ana changeable weather may bo expected generally, squally in parts, with scattered showers. A Press Association message irom Wostport states that heavy ram caused a big flood in tho Buller River, and temporarily suspended motor-c»r. tramo on tho main Westport-Reefton Road. Thero is no serious damage. In Invereargill, states anothex Press Association message, the weather lias been boisterous for the holidays. Thero has been frequent rain and occasional hail. Severe thunderstorms passed <wer tho town during the night. J lie weather is now clearing.
