FINILS OF ANNUAL TOURNAMENT.
The final stages of the Wellington Public Schools Lawn Tennis .Association's tournament were fought out on the Brougham Hill courts on Tuesday afternoon. There was a, numerous gathering of spectators, the weather was good, and the play was of excellent quality. Following are the results :— Schools. Girls' Singles.—ln the fourth round of the primary girls' singles V. Fordham (Terrace) beat M. Prince (Clyde Quay) by 30 points to 29. In the semifinal P. Fordham beat E. M'lndoe (Terrace) by 30 to 22. R. Howe (Clydo Quay)- heat CI. Doran (Lower Hutt) by 30 to 13; and in the final R.. Howo beat P. Fordham by 30 to 13. Girls' Doubles.—ln the semi-final R. Howe and.M.'Prince (Clyde Quay) beat .N. Davidson and E. Griersoii (Lower Hutt) by 30 to 23; and L. Martin and •M.' Colley (Island .Bay) beat )). Hunter and G. Doran (Lower Hutt) by 30 to -27. The final was won ry R. Howe and SI. Prince.by 30 points to 15. Boys' Singles (final).—Couzens' (Maraiiui—3.9l6 champion—beat Graham (Maram'u).- by 30. points to 18; aiid in tlie Exhibition. Singles.'which closed the day's play, Couzens, alter a well-con-tested game, beat M'Phce (Terrace) by 30 .points to 2i>: Boys' Doubles (final).—Couzens and Graham ; (Maranui) beat Donovan aiid Jenkins (Clyde Quay) by 30 to £7. Combined Doubles (final). —M. l'rinne and Donovan (Clyde Quay) ! cat L. Harris -and .M'Phee (Terrace) i,y 31 points to 20. Clyde Quay, tho holders of ih<\ Primary School Cup in 191(3, won it, again this year by 3 rubbers to 2, jUarauui being the runners-up.
| Secondary Schools. Girls' Singles.—in tho snni-limils B. Clark" (Technical College) n>at J. Thomson (Pctonc District High School) by 30 points to 23, \vbile LI. Lapworth (Technical College) boat M. Slater (I'etone) liy 30 to 1!); and in tho final B, Clark beat 11. Lapivortli bv HO points to 25. Girls' Doubles (filial).- —H. Clark and H. Lapworth (Troiinical College) heat J. Thomso nalid M. Slater (Petonp) by 30 to '20. : Boys' Singles (final). —'Won li.v Pntono, though the game was not played. Olsen and Roicl (tho winners in the semi-finals) both being Petone buvs. Boys' Doubles (final). —AVindley and Eohertsou (Technical College) licit Fitzsiinmons and Simmonds (Tecimieal College) by 30 to 27. Combined Doubles (linal).—J. Thomson and Iteid (I'otone) beat 15. Clark and Simninnds (Technical College) by 30 points to 27. Technical College, tho holders of the Secondary Schools Cup in 1910, again won it this year. Tho Mayor then presented tho prizes to tho successful contestants; after which, at the request of Mr. Vinv.iites, who paid ft high tribute to flip work done for years _ past, by Mr. W. Melody in organising tho tournaments, the Mayor presented that gentleman, on behalf of the association, with a handsome ease of half a dozen silver soup spoons.
