An official roport from J'alestino states:—"We advanced our left centre yesterday north-eastward of Ludd, on a five-mile front, to a maximum doptli of a 'mile and a half. Wo mnt with little opposition, and occupied I 1 ibbah, Khibanoh, Chelbornam, and a ridge overlooking El Tireh. Our aeroplanes dropped fifty-six bombs on motor boatsheds at the mouth of tho Wordon, with good effect, securing twenty-four hits."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-lteutor.
A HARBINGER OF PEACE? THE POPE'S MESSAGE. New York, Decembor 16. The New York "World" lias received a reply to its request to the p ope for a statement upon the British entry into Jerusalem. His Holiness has telegraphed: "'I am most happy to neo the Christian nations in tho Holy City.
