Tho principal lightkocper at Maunkau Heads lighthouse informed the Marine Department yesterday that tho scow Victory went ashore on a sand spit at the Beads between 8 and 9 o'clock on Saturday night. No lives were lost, and yesterday mcrning the vessol was high and dry.
UNION COMPANY'S COLLIERS. The. Kamo -was bar-bound at Greymouth on Sunday and yesterday,'and could not cross outwards for Wcllinjton. It was eipected. however, that sho would do so last night. The Kini will leave Greymouth to-right with coal and timber for Wellington. Tho Kamona was to have left Westport last night with coal for Wellington. On completion of discharge the vessel will tail on Thursday for New Plymouth. (She will take cargo.
MONOWAI DUE FRIDAY. The Union Company advised yesterday that tho Monowai will not arrive at this port on Thursday, her time-tablo date, but 011 the following morning. The Tinsel will sail in the evening for Napier. Gisborne, and Auckland, but cargo will bo received for Auckland only. CARGO FOR NAPIER AND (IISHOIINE. The Eosamoud arrived early last night from DunodiD, and berthed at INo 6 (north) Queen's 'Wharf. To-night she will sail for Napier and Gisborne, taking cargo for those ports, in place, of the M.nnowal on Friday next. The Monowai will i.oi take carsro for the ports mentioned. CORLNNA FOR OAMARU AND TIMAItU. Tho Union Company's Corinna, is due here on Thursday direct from Onehunga. She -will sail in the afternoon for Oiimani fl.nd Tlmaru, taking general cargo for (hose ports. On account of tho shortage of Harbour Board labour and the rain, the Ngatoro will not complete her discharge until tonight when she will sail for New Ply. mouth. Advice was received yesterday the Calm will not arrive at this port until Thursday, 011 which day sho will sail for Wanganui. On her way to southern ports the Calm will call at Wellington on Saturday. The Himitangi left Chatham Islands t>n Sunday for Lyttelton, whero she is due to-morrow. Fjom the southern port she will come to Wellington, arriving btro on Thursday, and at noon on Friday jvill sail for tho Islands to load wool for Lyttelton. The auxiliary schooner Fairburn with explosives for t.he Nobel Explosives Company is ten days out from Auckland, and should arrive hero at any time now. The vessel will go to Lyttelton and Dunedin from Wellington. On Friday it is expected that the Ngakuta will arrive from Greymouth, where she will load coal for this port. The harbour ferry tUamiw Tinchess tvlil go on the slip to-morrow for cleaning and painting. The Amokura, left Dunedin yesterday {or Wellington, and will arrive to-morrow night or on Thursday morning. The bi.ys will then go on their summer hvliday leavo. Captain Olift has arrived in Wellington from Australia. Mr. Jas. Henderson has joined tho Hippie as seoond officer. This afternoon tho John will .sail for Wanganui. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co. were yesterday advisod that the Wnimea will not arrivo at Wellington from Tarakoho until to-morrow morning. She will nail at 5 p.m. for Nelson and West Coast ports. After discharging a load of coal from thi East Coast on Wednesdaj' Hie Kahu will sail for Tarakoho to load cement for Napier and Akitio. After alteration and renovation the training ship John Murray has once more entered the merchant servico for the Commonwealth Government. Tho John Murray was originally a Loch Liner barque. Oaptain H. W. Johnston, at present holding the position of wharfinger at Moiueka, will shortly take up the dutieß of wharfinger at Oastleoliff.
