CENTRAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Council of the Wellington Central Chamber of Commerce met yesterday afternoon. Mr. C. M. Luke was in' the chair, and there were also pnjsent Messrs. A,. Tvoigh Hunt, H. Ropers, L. Asheroft Edwards. ft. J. Tfardie fhaw, .T. F. Atkins, J. S. Barton, H. Hart. J. Gaudin, H. G. Teagle, B. Maoolebeck. .. ~ The chairman reported regarding tile deliberations of the recent Conference nf New Zealand Cambers of Commerce. AH the remits of the Central Chamber had been adopted. The conncil carried a motion thanking the Chamber's delegates for their work. • The annual meeting of the Chamber was fixed for Tuesday. December 18.. Thirtv-nine new members, comprising persons and firms, were elected. Mie chairman said that over ninety new I members had been added to the Chamber during recent weeks. Air. Hunt suggested that steps should be taken to form a branch nf the Chamber at Petone and Lower H After some discussion the council agreed that steps should be taken to form the branch.
