LICENSES ON ACTIVE SERVICE

By Telejrapli—Press Association, Christchuroh, December 6. At. a meeting of the Christclvurch Licensing Committee to-day the chairman, Sir. Bailey, S.M., announced the committee's policy in regard to the licences of hotels where the licensees, who are members of the Second Division, are called up for active service. The. practice, he said, would bo to allow the wives to hold permits to continue the. husbands' licences during the husbands' absence. The committee, however, did not lay this down as a hard-and-fast rule. Every case would be decided on its merits, but on'thn general principle the committee were agreed.
