Mr. William Peter Martin died at Fitzroy, New Plymouth, last week. He arrived with his parents by the- ■ William Watson in December, 1857. After serving with the Tnranaki Rifle Volunteers during the Maori War, Mr. Martin settled on the; land, and, after farming for upwards of forty years, he went into business, subsequently retiring and talcing ub his residence at Fitzrov. He is survived by fits widow and family of twelve—four daughters, Mrs. Flvger (Fordell), Mrs. Furness (Waitara), Mrs. Grantham (Wellington), and Miss Martin; and eight sons, .Messrs. 8., H. E.. and E. H. Martin (Fitzrov), Mr. H. Martin (Smart Road), Mr. Arthur Martin (Nukumam), Mr. Allan Martin (Pihama), Mr. George Martin (Te Kuiti). and Mr. William Martin (Auckland).' There are forty-five grandchildren, two of the eldest of whom are at the front. Boys' hats in boaters, pedal straw, Panama, or washing hats, are showing n't prices ranging from Is. to 10s. Gd.
