GERMANS LAUNCH FRESH ATTACK ON CAMERAI FRONT

TERRIBLE CARNAGE IN ENEMY'S RANIS THE PEACE FARCE' BOLSHEVIKI SACRIFICING \ ■ THEIR NATION The great battle at Cambrai las been resumed by another German attack of great violence. The British line has gallantly met the shock of the enemy's persistent waves of attack, reinforced, so Mr. Philip Gibbs informs ns, by a new German division from Flanders. One dispatoh raises the question whether the enemy is seeking by heavy concentrations of troops and an utter disregard of his men to force a decision before America is ready. The battle which is at present raging is regarded as the biggest in the history of the war in the Western theatre. In Russia, the Bolshovik regime is rapidly plunging the country into ohaotic disintegration. According to the dispatches, the Germans have accepted the Bolshevik proposals for an armistice, but only on certain fronts. The enemy makes it clear that guarantees must be given that .the Bolshevik Government will be able to enforce any peace terms which may be agreed upon on the country as a whole. In the meantime M. Trotsky is pursuing a tyrannical and oapricious policy, dismissing officials wholesale. The news from the Italian front is reassuring. Venice, it is believed, is now safe.
