At the Karamu disposal sale last week there was keen competition for several lots, notably the crack (Jirce-year-old colt Hymcstra, who last season downed Biplane twico. Torfredo, the full-sister to Hymestra, also elicited keen competition. G. Irice. acting for Mr. J. GorinK Johnston, and A. M'Donald, of Maeterton, had a duel at the finish, and the Mastcrton sportsman secured the illly at 80Oejis. Mr. £. Ooodbelicre, secretary of the Fcilding Jockey Club, was at the Ashhurst Meeting last week, and acted with tho Judicial Committee, Tho Otaki trained PaparCßß, who scored in such hollow style in the Hack Hurdles at Ashhurst, is not engaged at reil4imr, but Holyhead, who regularly schools with tho Papakura mare, will bo a runner in the Haok Hurdles.
