It is'reported that there has already been some forward business done in the new.season's oats, sales having been "made at 3s. 7d. to 3s.' Bd,. f.0.b., delivery to be sprepd over the season. It is' anticipated that'some paddocks of oats will be cut early this , year, autumn-sown oats that were ..put in for green feed purposes being now very forward. There is still "a good demand for oatsheaf chaff, and prime is worth £5 to £5 ss. at country stations. Business,, however, is restricted through want of shipping space for the northern market. The potato market is practically at a standstill for tho same, reason. Souud potatoes are saleable at Auckland if they could he got away. There was no steamer this week, and it is expected that thero will Only bo limited space available next week.' Growers who still hold potatoes are now willing to let them go, as hopes of improvement in the market have been given up. The nominal price is £2 to £2 ss. at country stations.
