THE IMPERIAL GOVERNMENT'S REQUISITIONS STORAGE ACCOMMODATION Dy Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland. November 19. ■Particulars regarding the requisition by the Imperial Government of the produce of tho Dominion, and the arrangements being made to handle tho Dreamt season's output, were supplied in an interview witn the Prime Minister (the fiiffht Hon. W. F. Massey). "The quantity of meat estimated to remain in storo at the end of November will amount to approximately 2,000,000 601b. carcasses, as against 161,311 on tho same date last year," said the Prime Minister. "A great deal has been done in tho direction of providing further storage accommodation at freezing works, and thi6 new storage, when completed,' will provide space for an additional 1,332,700 601b. carcasses, -of which 729.700 will bo in tho North Island, and 603,000 j in the South Island. The completion ot the additions and extensions is to a great extent dependent upon tho arrival of tho necessary material, but a very large proportion should be available this season. "Space for a considerable quantity ot tho new season's cheese will be available in steamers leaving this month. The total number of crates exported from the Dominion during the twelve months ending October 31, 1917, amounted to 490,357, crates, valued at .£3,102,231. The total shipments of butter from the Dominion during tho twelve months ending October 31 last amounted to 781,618 boxes." In Tegard to wool, practically the whole of the 1916-1917 clip had now. been valued. Since tho commencement of tho Imperial Government requisition 501,301 bales of wool had been purchased to November 3, valued at .£11,053,« G. apd 360,243 bales had beon shipped, valued at .£762,057. The Imperial Government had expressed its desire to continue the purchase of freezing companies' slipe wool on the same terms ns lust year, and this matter was now receiving attention.
