ITALIANS DESPERATELY DEFENDING FOUR ATTACKS COMPLETELY BROKEN London, November 18. An Italian official report states: "We completely broke up four attacks of extreme violence in tho direction of Zomo, east of Gallio (on tho Asiago Plateau). We recaptured advanced elements in tho direction of Caseramelctta d'Avanti! The onemy pressure between the Brenta and the Piave is increasing, and after a fierce resistance and brilliant counter-attacks wo effected an orderly withdrawal from some advanced positions. We completely swept the enemy from the Fagaro zone. Wo repulsed an attack at Zenson, driving the enemy further back in the loop of tho river, and frustrated attempts to cross the river elsewhere On Friday and Saturday, on the right bauk of the Piave, wo took 1263 prison'crs."-Aus.-'N.Z. Althou"h the enemy pressure is great, tho Itnlian resistance is developing violontly. °Tho onomy's sacrifices arc enormous, and his efforts show 6igns of exhaustion The enemy is making an effort to break through on the Brenta Riverfront and to cut off tho troops holding the Piave line. Tie was many times repulsed at tho point of the bayonet, suffering heavy losses. After a terrific "bombardment, lasting all day, the enemy three limes attacked at Mount Ondareeu (?), and also attacked on the north slope of Monte Cornelia.
