A special message from Jlalitjnga states that the main forces of the enemy are hard pressed, and are being driven towards Chiwata, which lies on the edge of a high tableland encirclcd by precipitous escarpments. A captured letter mentioned that Colonel von Lettow-Vorbeck (Commander-in-Chief) instructed Colonel 'l'afel, .who commands the north, that 'he niusl) hold' the colony at least until January 18, 1918. Another letter reports a statement by the Governor that there would be peace this year.—Renter. revolt in zrarao at an end. (Hoc. November 16, 8.35 p.m.) London, November 15. An official report 6tates:—"There have been further important' surrenders of native chiefs in Portuguese East Africa. Tho revolt is now considered at an end in the Zumbo region."—Reuter.
