The annual meeting of the Cerole Lit- . tprairo Franca is was held in Bartlett's SsTudio on Thursday evening. Captain Barclny, the retiring president, occupied the chair. Captain Barclay, in the course of hia remarks, spoke of the approaching departure of Miss M'Diarmia. He "said lie voiced the opinion of fiie members generally in expressing regret at losing her services, and in hoping she would find her new sphere a congenial one. It was resolved to cancel the remaining engagements for this session, with the exception of a concert which is being arranged to provide funds for the French Red Cross Society. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr. James Macintosh (French Consular Agent); president, Captain Barclny; vice-presidents, Sir Robert Stout, Sir Francis Bell, Afr. W. B. Hudson, Mr. H. F. Lattey, Mrs. A. M. Myers, Mrs. Seville,. Madame DechanotM'lntosh, Miss van Staveren; general secretary, Mr. C. J. Cooke, 8.A.; minute secretary, Madame Dcchanet-M'lntosh; treasurer. Mis? Mead; librarian, Mr. T. H. Whetton; committeo, Madame Simon, Misses Hind, M.A., Allan, and Loclcie, Messrs. White, and Hodson. There was a lengthy discussion on the ways of rendering the meetings of greater use, especially to young students, | but eventually the matter was left for the consideration of the incoming committee. The proceedings closed with the usual vote of thanks to the chair.
