Nominations closed vosterday {or the Hutt County Council and Makara County Council elections, fixed! for Wednesday neit. As far as the Hutt County is concerned, there will be an olection in the MungaToa Biding only, and in oach oi; the other ridings the person nominated has been declared elected. HUTT COUNTY. Mungaroa Hiding (two to be elected): Frederick Gnrnet Cooper, nominated by W. P. Priftglo and A. E. Palmer; James Joseph Maher, nominated by James Stevena and E. \V. Cottle; Angus John M'Curdj', nominated by Charles H. Izaid and Andrew Wylie; John Whiteman, nominated by John S. Barton'and A. E. Whyte.

Epuni Biding (ono wanted): Maurice Whitewood Welch, nominated by Richard B. Boy and M. E. Denniston.

Horokiwi Biding (one wanted): William Galloway, nominated by Alfred Iggulden and William Harris. Wainui-o-mata Riding (one wanted): Patrick Kavanagh, nominated by George Glover and D. H. Johnston. Whareroa Riding (one wanted): Wil- . Ham James Howell, nominated by M. J. Lynch and Fred Cordukes. \ MAKAEA. The number of nominations in the Ma'kara Biding of the Makara County does not exceed the number of councillors required, and Messrs. Bowler and Cook have been dulv declared elected.
