By Telegraph—Press Association. Carterton, October 23. 4. meeting, representative of the married farmers of South Featherston, was addressed by the Eev. M. Cathenvood, Messrs. A. C. Holms, and J. T. M. Hornsby, M.P. The following motion was carried:— That this meeting of married men representative of the Featherston district enters an emphatic protest against the inadequate provisions made for soldiers' dependants, and calls upon the Ministry and Parliament to either favourably reconsider the proposals or to bo logical and place all sections of the community on the same economic basis as tho country s defenders, as being in some measure an equality' of sacrifice. Further, this meeting also unanimously affirms that the Ministerial statement as to the Second Division League not playing the game is unwarranted."
