ALLEGED DESERTION

RESERVIST COURT-MARTIALLED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston North, October 23. A District Court-martial sat at Palmerston North this morning to determine a charge of alleged desertion against a reservist. Francis Joseph Carroll, who was called up in February and failed to respond, and was arrested at Ivaitaia, North Auckland, two weeks ago. Carroll pleaded not guilty, and the prosecutor (Captain Baldwin) applied for and was granted an adjournment to call witnesses.
