SENSATIONAL SPEECH BY MAXIMALIST "CIVIL WAR IS UNAVOIDABLE " Petrograd, October 5 Jt. irodzky, a Maximalist leader, in a speech at tho Democratic Conference, said that civil war is unavoidable. The only doubt is whether it will take an organised form or develop into street lighting. Ho promised on behalf of the party that it would never forcibly seize power, but he declared that tho masses might arise if Iheir demands wero rejected.
The speech created a sensation. Tho Cadels (Constitutional Democrats) interrupted, but the Soldiers' and Workmen's delegates applauded enthusiastically — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.

Admiralty, per Wireless' Press:—A Russian official report states: "Our artillery stopped enemy attacks by dense waves south of Radautz (Bukowina). The Bulgarians occupied several trenches in the region of Buzeu. We counter-attacked, and restored the positions."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable, Assn.-Reuter.
