A-DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED .AUSTRIAN TOWN.
The "Arbciter Willcn" recently circulated a statement, that Oraz ms lieflagged, ft was rumoured that the .Austrian Food Controller, General Jloefcr, was coming to the town. The news spread like wild-fire, with tho additional irresponsible announcement "More bre&d and "Surplus meat rations." In a few hours the whole town was in state o extraordinary excitement over tho arrival of the Minister, ns everyone hoped for belter food coiulilions. At last tbe.excitement became* so great that the Burgomaster was obliged to explain by public criers that the reason why the town had suddenly burst' into (lags and bunting was that Stanislau had fallen into Austrian bands. . The disappointment of tho noonlo was general. They returned to their homes hungrier than ever, exclaiming, "Is that all?"
