DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS REJECTS COALITION New York, October 3. The Democratic Congress at Petrograd has rejected, the plan foe a Coalition Government—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. (Eec. October i, 8.55 p.m.) Petrograd, October 3. Tho Democratic Conference, by 766 votes against 688, favoured a Coalition Government. Tho Provisional Government lias informed the Governor-General of Finland that it regards the meeting of memoera of tho Finnish Diet to have been of a private character; therefore,/tho Bills passed are inoperative.—Aus.-N.Z. A BACK SOMERSAULT. (Reo. October 5, 0.45 a.m.) Petrograd, October 3. After the Democratic Conference had resolved in favour of a Coalition Government,'amendments were carried excluding the participation of the bourgeois elements connected with the Kormloff movement, and also the Cadets. The coalition resolutions were subsequently rescinded by 813 votes to 180—Renter.
SPY ROUND-UP JN_ PETROGRAD ; > j WHOLESALE ARRESTS. Petrograd, October 3. Wholesale arrests of German agents continue. Many of them were disguised as commercial travellers.
