The Chief Justice (Sir Robert' Stout) Ml'. Justice Denniston, Mr. Justice Cooper, Mr:'Justice'Chapman, and. Mr. Justice Husking .yesterday heard argument upon -the interpretation of clauses in the will of Robert C. Bruce, deceased, late of Hunterville, farmer. ■. The -parties wore. Alexander : C. bmip«>n, of'Hunterville, fai'iuer, and Frank F. Hockley, plaintiffs; and t!e>rge .1. Bruce, of Wahganui, settler, and Barbara B. C." M. Bruce, of Aiickl-and, arid the Attorney-General, defendants. The plaintiffs, as executors and trustees of the will of the late' Robert C. Bruce, asked- the Court to answer the following nuest-ious:—(lj -Whether, tho gift, in the will "of ijfld to the Menial Hospital at Porirua" was valid; .'(2). whether the gift "and as to the whole of, m.v residuary estale, ' T. direct -Yny *-trustees - - to apply the same.iit"their uncontrolled discretion for . the, purpose of afforestation, or the making of domains or national parks in New Zealand" was .valid (3) if one or both of the gifts, were declared void, who was entitled to the subjcc.t of such gift "Ml- C- P- Slceri'ett, K.C.. • and Mr. Hiissey, of Wanganui, appeared for the. deceased's executors; Sir.- Francis Bell, KC- and-Mr. Hutton, of.
