BUTTER AND CHEESE
STATE O? NEGOTIATIONS. Another inquiry was made iu the House of Representatives yesterday as to the progress of the negotiations between the New Zealand Government and the Imperial Government for the purchase by tho Imperial Government of' tho r>o\v Zealand butter output. 11 r. W. H. Field asked the Prime Minister whether he could give the House any later information on this matter. The-Prime Minister said that in the last ■ message 'he had sent to London a few days ago he had urged the importance of coming to a quick decision for the reason that the, New Zealand dairy eeason had opened, and that the delay was causing serious He had received no reply to that telegram, which he had eent six days ago. He thought the delay was owing tortile change made in the office of the i'ood Controller. He expected to have the reply in the course of a few days. Mr. AVilkinson: Any news about cheese ? Mr. Massey: No, not a word. I haven t had a word from the Imperial authorities on tiiia particular subject for three weeka.
