MANAGEMENT. COMMITTEE MEETS.. The Management Committee of the Wellington Bugby Union held a, meeting last evening, Dr. M'Evedy being in the chair. It was decided to allow the Hockey As-, sociatiori to play a match on Saturday, September 29, Trentliam v. Wellington. ■. In connection with the Christmas Gift Fund it was decided that each club should nominate a lady -for the committee, and that the Ladies' Committee meet next week. The' Eugby Union is to provide the toy stall at the sports bazaar, to be held in November. _ The St. John's Fifth Class Football club asked permission to withdraw from the football tournament because of the large percentage of the club's players having left Wellington. This was granted. # The , Auckland Bugby Football Union wrote conveying the thanks of that union for the kind and generous treatment accorded the Auckland team whioh visited Wellington recently. ■ ' ' A- telegram was- received from the Auckland Union inquiring whether Wellington would agree to play a match at Auckland on Saturday, October 6, on the basis of half net proceeds. It was decided to accept the offer subject to the Wellington •Union being able to send its beat team away. . , _ .. Tho Athletic Park was granted for too afternoon of Dominion Day for a match between tho post and telegraph engineers and railway engineers. It, was decided to write to the Wanfftnui Union to the eflect that owing to prior engagements the Wellington Union would be unable to arrange a match this seaeon. , FIXTURES FOB SATURDAY. . First Grade.—University .v. Petone, Park No. 1; .referee, Mr. E. Perry. Second Grade-St. John's v. Selwyn, Park No. 2: referee, Mr. R. Fordyce. Fifth Grade—The competition was deolarod closed, and the Wellington College A team was awarded the championship of the grade. Sixth Grade—St. Patrick's Av. Petone, at the Park at 1.30 p.m.; - referee Mr. H. Brooker. ; , , Permission was given for a- match to be played on Saturday at 1.30 p.m. between the non-commissioned officers of tho Thirtieth and Thirty-fifth Reinforcements; referee Mr. J. Hoyden.
