The Golfer waß hot extended by Mill Queen ih a six furlongs gallop. Tho grey gelding was always'going well within himself, and seems to be coming back to form. Seadown waß given his first gallop since his temporary absence. He jumped off at tho five furlongs, and Was picked up by Johnny Walker after going a furlong. Trentbam Rose and Bonny Maid ran five fnrlongs in linin. 4 3-sseo„ with the latter going the bettor of the two at tho finish. The All Red filly liatl most Weight, and was under a strong pull over the first three furlongs to keep her back to Bonny Maid. Pervolo, who is to contest the Trial Stakes at Otakl, beat tho Provocation filly In J. Aycr's stable in a gallop over four furlongs. Tho Advanco filly broke 50 seconds, which was the best gallop of the morning. Tho Etyslan colt Oourtfield beat Margarette over three, furlongs in 37 seconds. He walked away palpably lame, but yesterday ho was quite sound again. Risingham was going easily tho whole way in a three furlongs bout with Preface. Probation beat Association over four furlongs in 50 3-sseo. . Over a half-mile Battle Array was not extended to beat Ocoasion, whoso first gallop It was. It: is not often that three of the progeny of one mare claim nominations in the sams event. Mr. T. H. Lowry's ware, Aurarius, ban' claim this record in connection with the Fifth Taranaki Stakes, to bo decided next season, among the horses engaged being Croesus, Desert Gold, and a yearling slater to Desert Gold. Diabolo' (Stepniak—Tortulla) died last week in Qieborne. On the running path Diabolo proved more than -fair, for amongst his victories was a Canterbury Oup, and he.also got second in the New Zealand and Wellington Cups. Eligible has been : returned to his owner. Tho son of Boniform and Class, who had been under the control of trainer T. As was generally anticipated, the wolllraown Eller6lie trainer, r'rank M'Manemin, has received tho appointment of handicapper to tho Auckland Racing Club, rendered vacant by tho death of Mr. George Morse -For many years Mr. M'Manemin has followed the calling of trainer at Ellerslie, and during that time has met with a very fair amount of success. Though he is practically a novice at handicapping his wide experience of racing and horses should well fit him for his now position. Nominations for the Dnnedin .Tinker Cubs Spring Meeting, Masterton Haoing Club s Spring Meeting, and the New Zealand Oup close on Friday ncit. The annual meeting of members of tho Wellington Trotting Club waß held' at Petone on Saturday evening. In tho absence of Mr. Eric, Kiddlford. tho president, who was detained in tho country, Major A. Three of the old stewards did not seek reelection, and their places were filled by the appointment nf Major Samuels and Messrs. Wilkio and M'Wkirter.
