BILL BEFORE PARLIAMENT. The Day's Bay Sanitation and Water Supply Bill (Mr. A; R. Wright) has beeu returned to-the-House of ltepresentatiyes by the Local Bills Committee' with amendments. This Bill proposes to include within the jurisdiction of the Wellington City ■ Council, for , water'supply, drainage, sanitation, and ether purposes part oi the Hutt County situated at Day's Bay, and to enable the council to carry out necessary works. It provides that the City Council may proceed in, respect , of drainage and water works,as thouigh the Day's Bay area formed a part of the city. Loans may be raised with the authority of the ratepayers, and rates may bo struck. , . If the ratepayers refuse to sanction either the drainage loan or the water loan, then the Act will become null and void and the Hutt County Council: will, be required to repay costs incurred by the -Wellington' City Council in connection with the scheme. ■
