The Orepuki will arive to-day from Lyttelton, sad is to sail this afternoon for Nelson and Greymouth, and not for Nelcon and Nydia ,Bay as had been intended. The alteration has been, made necessary by the stranding of tif Opoun nt Greymouth. The Baden Powell left Auckland at 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday for New Plymouth and Wellington. x ; . The ferry steamer Maori was dclajefl for an hour off the pinnacle rock at Seatoun last night, -while a slight mishap in the engine-room was being repaired. ■ The auxiliary scow Magic will go jp on the slip to-day to receive repairs to her hull. It will be about two weeks before the vessel will be relaunched. The sailing time of the Huia'for nanganui and New Plymouth has been altered to 5 p.m. to-morrow, consequent upon her delays by the weather. The vessel is due here this afternoon. The Alexander left yesterday f?r J-el-son to load cattle for Wanganui, from whioU port she is due on Saturday, fine will leave on Monday for Nelson and WeEt Coast. . - . •The Tainui is due to*Tnf>rro , w Horn Lytr telton, and will leavo in the afternoon on the return trip. The Kamona will leave Greymouth today with coal for Wellington. Captain J. Ryan has taken the place of Oaptain J. Baldwin as oommander of one of tho Union Company's steamers. The Mararoa will go into dock at Lyttelton on Monday for painting. Sho mil sail as usual in the evening. Captain 0. Ycndore has relieved Captain W. Wahlstrom of command of the Invercargill for one trip. , During tho month of August vessels entered and left tho port of Nelson. These were as follow: 24 Union Company e steamers, 96 small steamers, and 15 sailing vessols, with a total of 24,856 tons register, against 25.930.f0r the corresponding mouth last year.
